My intention and purpose, in life and work, is to help open the awareness and the inner connection that people can have, not only to horses but also to their own soul,” she says. Gabriele recalls her first calendar series, back in the mid-1980s: “I printed the first calendar for Edition Boiselle in 1985. Graphics, production, publicity, distribution, invoicing – I did the whole lot myself!” she laughs. “And, I shall never forget how I spent the Christmas season standing in my kitchen packing calendars, and how I motivated myself with Christmas biscuits and a festive glass of champagne to keep going to the end.” After her first year, Gabriele swore off calendars, not producing one for another two years.
