Grant Proposal Deadline from USA Equestrian Trust Fast Approaching

usaet_logo-smallApril 1, 2010 – Lexington, KY – If you are a non-profit equine organization in need of a grant then don’t delay.  Go to http://www.trusthorses.org/grant/request.html and fill out a grant application from USA Equestrian Trust Grant Program.  The deadline of May 4th at 5 PM EST is fast approaching.

“While no public charity can make grants to every deserving group, USA Equestrian Trust encourages any non profit in the equestrian community who needs assistance to consider completing the grant application,” commented Alan F. Balch, USAET President.

Past recipients of grants include those doing equine health research, equestrian land conservation, and educational programs.

The $25,000 Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby Works in Cooperation with the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation

Franktown004390Carson City, Nevada – March 16, 2010 – The Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby and the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation (Parasol) will work in collaboration so as to benefit the Northern Nevada and California area.  The standalone derby is set to take place at the Franktown Meadows Equestrian Facility in Carson City, NV on September 19, 2010, and will be a member event of the Chronicle of the Horse/United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) International Hunter Derby Series presented by Dietrich Insurance.

Parasol has partnered with the Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby not only to promote philanthropy in the Northern Nevada and California areas, but also to promote the equestrian sport.

The Foundation is housed in the $6.6 million Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center of Incline Village, NV.  This beautifully planned purpose-built building provides a place for non-profit organizations to come together for the common good. Sixty-six non-profit and charitable organizations work together under the Parasol roof sharing meeting space, services, resources and ideas, in addition to the eight charitable organizations housed in the Parasol building. This building embodies the concept of collaborating to save money – the Parasol building has saved non-profits over $4.1 million.

Wellington, FL – March 4, 2010 – Mark Bellissimo and his Wellington Equestrian Partners believe it is important to give back to the community, and so do many of the world-class and Olympic riders competing at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington.

Bellissimo and 23 other equestrian families are putting their money where their hearts are as two dozen charities with Palm Beach County connections will be the beneficiaries of the inaugural Great Charity Challenge on Saturday, March 20, at 7 p.m. at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.

The event, conceived by Bellissimo and his eldest daughter Paige, will link 24 of the world’s top riders, including 2008 U.S. Olympic gold medalists Laura Kraut of Wellington, McLain Ward, Beezie Madden, and Will Simpson as well as Rodrigo Pessoa of Brazil and Eric Lamaze of Canada, and Olympian Lauren Hough, in a unique show jumping competition where all the prize money is donated to charity.
