• Picture: They started the 2010 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event in the lead and finished it that way. Great Britain’s William Fox-Pitt jumped a double-clear show jumping round with Cool Mountain on Sunday to clench his first Rolex Kentucky victory. Phillip Dutton and Woodburn jumped into second place after a faultless trip, while Becky Holder caught only one rail with Courageous Comet to finish in third place. G&C Farm Celebrates Successful Sponsorships During Winter Show Season

Wellington, FL – April 20, 2010 – G&C Farm would like to thank everyone for a successful winter season through their sponsorships at the 2010 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) and at the $200,000 Gene Mische American Invitational, where they were a presenting sponsor.

At the FTI WEF, G&C Farm was a major sponsor. They were the week one title sponsor on January 13-17, where they also sponsored the $25,000 G&C Farm Speed Derby won by Olympic gold medalist Rodrigo Pessoa and Palouchin de Ligny.

They were also the driving force and title sponsor behind the $25,000 G&C Farm Young Riders Grand Prix classes that were held during the FTI WEF. They were won by David Arcand of Canada on Santos Utopia  and Jessica Springsteen with Iscariote.

Zippy Chippy to Old Friends at Cabin Creek

America’s Biggest Loser to Retire with Champions

GREENFIELD CENTER, NY – APRIL 23, 2010 – America’s biggest loser is about to become a big winner.

Zippy Chippy, the racehorse known more for his career defeats than his thrilling victories, arrived yesterday at Old Friends at Cabin Creek: The Bobby Frankel Division, where he will be permanently pensioned.

Cabin Creek is the New York satellite of the well-known Georgetown, Kentucky-based Thoroughbred retirement farm that was founded by Michael Blowen in 2003.

Life in the Fast Lane! Sarah Lane Wins the $5,000 Devoucoux Hunter Derby at HITS Culpeper

CULPEPER, VA (April 25, 2010) — Sarah Lane led the way in the first edition of the $5,000 Devoucoux Hunter Derby at HITS Culpeper when she piloted JC Kennedy’s Brilliant to the top prize on Saturday at the Commonwealth National at HITS Commonwealth Park, in Culpeper, Virginia.

Lane was second in the popular two-round derby heading into the handy round aboard Kennedy’s 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood and used a second-round score of 85 to take the lead and secure the blue in the class.

“It was a nice course,” said Lane. “It had a good open stride and was a nice introduction for young horses and riders that are getting into derby mode.”

Lane, who is a professional rider and works with Patty Stovel, also secured fourth place in the irons of Shoal Creek Stables’ Kenya.
