Lexington, KY – March 20, 2010 – The Hagyard Equine Medical Institute is pleased to announce that it will be one of the sponsors for this year’s Horses N Heroes event. Veterinarians Dr. Holly Schmitt will represent Hagyard by participating as a model during a fashion show that will be one of the highlights of the event. The event benefits the Horses N Heroes, which combines horses that have been retired, rescued, and donated with children that have been in unfortunate circumstances such as abusive homes or impoverished areas. This benefit is associated with the Horse Shows in the Sun Ocala circuit and is scheduled for Sunday, March 21, 2010 at 7:30 pm at Cloud Nine in downtown Ocala, Florida.
Dr. Holly Schmitt is excited to participate in this event as one of the 15 models and she is looking forward to the money it will help raise for Horses N Heroes Program. Dr. Schmitt will be wearing clothing from Adobe East in Ocala, FL., and the men participating will wear clothes from Grainer’s in Ocala, FL.

Wellington, FL (March 19, 2010) – Alissa Kinsey and her 13-year-old Hanoverian mare, Grisset, are proving to be the ones to beat in the $10,000 Adult Amateur 18-35 Jumper Classic at the 2010 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival. Sponsored by Classic Equine Equipment, a nationally recognized leader in quality horse stall systems and stable accessories, Kinsey and Grisset won the Classic for the sixth time during the ninth week of WEF.
“Alissa and Grisset are a dynamite duo and they are certainly out to win the Circuit Championship in the Adult Jumpers this year at WEF,” said Adam Busse, owner of Classic Equine Equipment. “We are pleased to sponsor the Classic and especially pleased to have our names connected to Alissa and Grisset.”
Kinsey said Grisset has exceeded her expectations during the winter circuit by winning the Classic six out of nine times. “Grisset was competing with a rider from Slovenia before I bought her. She did very well on the young horse tour, but wasn’t cut out for the big international classes. Fortunately, that’s how I ended up with her,” Kinsey said. “Her previous owner sold her to move on with new young stock. We keep in touch all the time and they are delighted to hear of Grisset’s accomplishments in the United States.”
I wanted to congratulate all the winners in the February V show, as well as remind members of a few of the benefits of IPHDA membership.
