OCALA, FL (March 1, 2010) — The HITS Ocala Winter Circuit continues to see fresh faces in the winners’ circle as Andre Thieme and Cesar captured Sunday’s $75,000 Strongid C 2X Grand Prix, presented by Pfizer Animal Health.

“It was a very tough and long course,” said Thieme of Plau Am See, Germany, which means ‘Plow on the Lake’. “There were 14 numbered elements and 17 jumps in all, so that’s a lot of jumping to do.”

Thieme, 34, started off as a young dressage rider in Germany before making his way to the United States and into the jumper divisions. Now, he’s looking to add a few more Grand Prix victories to his resume during his time in the ‘Horse Capital of the World’ this winter.

“This was only the third Grand Prix [Cesar] has done,” said Thieme of the 8-year-old mare which he owns. “I didn’t think I could go that fast with her, but she’s young and has a lot of potential.” Read more> http://www.horsesinthesouth.com/article/article_detail.aspx?id=10415

Wellington, Florida – March 1, 2010 – The Fete Cheval Carnivale featured fantastic riders, great food, and many carnival games.  The carnival was last held in 2006, and because of popular demand, The EQUUS Foundation decided to begin holding the event once again.  The dinner and event was hosted by Spy Coast Farm and was held at the International Polo Club of Palm Beach.  The Fete Cheval Carnivale was held to benefit The EQUUS Foundation which helps equestrian and horse related charities across the United States.

The event was supported by Lisa and Robert Lourie of Spy Coast Farm, Title Sponsor of the event, “Super Fan” sponsors Bobbie and Derek Braun of Split Rock Farm, Gray and Jerry Fadden, Clea Newman, and Visse Wedell, along with “Fan” sponsors, Susan and Jim Baumann, Susan Carr of East Wind LLC and SCNC Investments, Carol and William Dollard of Steeple Chase Farm, the Harrison Family and Double H Farm, Bob and Ellen Healey, Elizabeth Johnson of Louisburg Farm, Jennifer and Bert Mutch, Angela and Chris Paradysz, Suzanne Porter of Sleepy P Ranch, and Jenny and Kermit Sutton of Wrenwood Farm.
