Harrodsburg, KY — February 25, 2010 — The list of supporters for the inaugural Camden Spring Fling show, April 7-11, continues to grow. Chairman Robert Hunt announced Sidelines Magazine, based in Wellington, FL. has signed on as sponsor of the Green Hunter Division as well as “official publication” for the event.

Established in 1988 and based in the winter hot spot of the horse show world, Sidelines remains at the fore front of the social scene, fashion trends, and news in the equestrian community. The publication is devoted to the personalities and lifestyle trends that comprise the exciting world of all things horse. Whether the readers’ interest lie with the thrills of show jumping, the grace of Dressage, the drama of Eventing, or the grit of Polo, Sidelines has something to intrigue everyone. From the latest news of equestrian sports to getting personal with favorite competitors or introducing emerging talents the publication brings readers an insight above and beyond.  The magazine also produces the wildly popular Barn Book, an extensive directory of anyone and anything an equestrian could ever need that now covers Florida (broken into two books, Central and South regions), North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and the Mid Atlantic.

Publisher Samantha Charles of Aiken, SC firmly believes in being a benefactor to equestrian sports. “I am delighted at the opportunity to support the new Spring Fling event in Camden, SC. Since Camden is right next door to where I live in Aiken, it’s easy access for many of us to come over to participate. The Sidelines Barn Book is relatively new to the SC, NC, and GA area, so we see the new South Carolina Equine Park as the perfect venue to show case our books and look forward to getting to visit with our readers.” Charles added the anticipation for the first USEF AA rated event in their area was almost at a fever pitch. “This is truly great for our horsey area of the country! The Camden Spring Fling is exactly what’s needed here; it should become the centerpiece of spring showing. We can’t wait to see what other new events the South Carolina Equine Park will attract to our beautiful area.”

Editor of the magazine, Cornelia Henderson said, “The Camden Spring Fling will become a great way to herald in the season! Our readers are going to be there, in force no doubt.” As will some of the magazine’s staff, to meet and chat with exhibitors firsthand while distributing the latest edition of both Sidelines and The Barn Book. “We love talking with our readers, learning what they like and want more of in the magazine,” Charles added.

Exhibitors and guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the weekend’s social scene with staffers from the social magazine at a collection of charity parties in the ringside VIP tent offering guests a wide array of delectable eats and great entertainment. Beginning with Friday evening during the Willoughby Stables sponsored $5000 Welcome Jumper Classic and a Down Home BBQ complete with all the trimmings followed by the musical styling of Rusty Davis and Friends playing a variety of Classic Rock to Beach favorites. Next on Saturday evening will be the delicious fare at the Derby Dinner featuring a selection of tenderloins accompanied by a variety of tasty side dishes. Then for a fond farewell, Sunday afternoon will host the Queen’s Prix Luncheon of good ole southern comfort foods like fried chicken, homemade mac ’n’ cheese, and even a specialty drink to toast favorite grand prix jumpers as they take to the field in the $25,000 finale event.

And everyone can appreciate knowing that proceeds from each table or single seat sold benefit a special local organization, Roger Rules Foundation, established in the memory of Roger Jennings Davis who was the son of band leader Rusty Davis, giving Friday evening’s performance a more personal significance . The Roger Jennings Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund has created an annual college scholarship to be awarded to a deserving Camden High School Senior.

Tables of 8 and/or individual seat tickets are available for single nights or in a special package for all three big nights. An added bonus to table purchases is the inclusion of a VIP Parking Pass which provides holders access to tent side parking.  Additional details, pricing, and reservations can be obtained from Leslie Kirk by emailing lesliewkirk@aol.com .  Early reservations are recommended.

The Camden Spring Fling appreciates their sponsors and encourages exhibitors to support those who make our events possible.
