Program Your Position – A Review by Johnny Robb

ProgramYourPositionMy New Years resolution is to improve my riding.  If you share a similar goal or resolution, I can recommend an incredible tool that I have been using, Program Your Position.  This is an amazingly effective “program”, and I can honestly say it has helped my position immensely.

The program, developed by Ruth Hogan-Poulsen and Jane Savoie, has three components. These include 5 DVDs, 3 audio CDs and an illustrated pocket guide.

No matter how you absorb information most effectively, Program Your Position has you covered. Personally, I like all the audios and illustrated pocket guide the best. But I must add that the DVD segments are like attending a clinic.

For me, Program Your Position is better than a clinic because the series teaches you to use a simple set of buzz words to “program” your position corrections.  I ride around saying the buzzwords and correct my riding position almost effortlessly. The buzzwords are easy to remember and effective and the program also encourages you to add your personal buzzwords too. Bestselling Mystery Writer Tami Hoag Announces Professional Rider Status

After many years of successfully competing as an adult amateur Grand Prix rider, Tami Hoag recently announced she is now becoming a professional rider.

After many years of successfully competing as an adult amateur Grand Prix rider, Tami Hoag recently announced she is now becoming a professional rider.

Wellington, FL (January 4, 2010) – New York Times bestselling mystery writer Tami Hoag has long enjoyed a dual career as a suspense novelist and adult amateur dressage competitor. After many years of successfully competing as an adult amateur Grand Prix rider, Hoag recently announced she is now becoming a professional rider.

“I feel good about this change of status. Even though I make my living as a writer, not a rider, I have always approached my riding in a very professional way,” Hoag said. “I’ve always looked at it as a second career in terms of dedication. My first Grand Prix was with Feliki at the Gold Coast Opener in January of 2001. It was a big open class and we placed sixth and I never looked back.”

Hoag won’t immediately jump into the ring; however, as she will be embarking on an 11-city tour for her new book Deeper Than The Dead in January. “I won’t be able to get my show season under way until February. Then I’ll be making the rounds of the Wellington shows,” Hoag said. “I’m really excited to be finally getting into the show ring with Bacchus de Light, my top Grand Prix horse who has been out for a year rehabbing an injury. He’s coming back into great form.” Read more> http://www.horsesinthesouth.com/article/article_detail.aspx?id=9628

NY Demonstration Spurred by Discovery of Continuing BLM Deceit

mares_in_foal_121109January 3, 2010 – CHICAGO, (EWA) – The perfect storm of protests spurred by Bureau of Land Management’s clearing of horses from its Calico Mountain complex will continue into the first week of the new year.

Wild horse advocates have been outraged by a federal plan to remove most of the horses from the area driven in a snow blinded stampede from their natural habitat. A protest demonstration is planned for Thursday, January 7 from 11am to 1pm in front of the Capital Building in Albany, NY. Additional information is available at www.equinewelfarealliance.org. Protests are also planned for Denver and Lexington next week, as well.

The EWA urges citizens concerned over the planned extinction of our wild horse heritage, to attend these demonstrations.

Despite a federal judge’s recommendation to cancel the Nevada Calico Complex round-up and the discovery of testimony showing the agency is knowingly distorting the impact of wild horses on the environment to justify their removal, the BLM is moving full steam ahead with the controversial round-up of 3,000 horses. As reported in Horseback Magazine, director Bob Abbey gave the go-ahead to proceed with the round-up. One horse and one foal have already died.
