November 8, 2009 – What a great week in Conyers! We had over 700 competing this week and so many activities and I am not sure where to start.
Well, on Friday, The Georgia International Horse Park celebrated the 15th Anniversary of the Classic Company’s Atlanta Fall Classic. We held the first hunter jumper event the first week of November 1995 the fall before the Olympic Games. The exhibitors had cake and punch and there was a short ceremony and I was given a nice bottle of Dom Perignon champagne.
I left the celebration and hosted a Zone 4 Forum. For an hour we discussed the zone specs and our notes will be sent to the committee for consideration next spring for 2010. Not to keep you in suspense but the forum liked the hunter zone specs and felt they did want to see changes in the Zone 4 Jumper Specs for Child/Adult jumpers. It was the opinion of the group that the horse/rider combination should be the only part restricted to the Children’s Adult. They felt that the rider should only be restrictedly riding another horse from jumping over 1.30m to prepare them to move up to Jr AOs.
