The 2009 FEI General Assembly will take place according to the following timetable:

Tuesday, 17 November

9h – 10h15 – Extraordinary General Assembly (adoption of new FEI Statutes followed by the election of a new Board). This meeting will be broadcast LIVE and FREE OF CHARGE on FEI TV.

11h – 13h00 – Meetings of the Geographical Groups with the FEI Bureau / Board

14h15 – 18h45 – Meetings of the FEI Geographical Groups with the FEI Bureau / Board (continued)

Wednesday, 18 November

9h – 10h15 – session on youth, FEI Year of Youth and Youth Olympic Games

10h15 – 12h15 – session on Development

13h45 – 14h30 – 2012 Olympic Games – update on preparations by the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG)

14h45 – 15h30 – Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010 – update on preparations

News: Rendezvous 3, a 14-year-old Danish Warmblood mare owned by Francine Walker and competed by Courtney King-Dye, shattered her pastern bone in a turnout paddock and had to be humanely euthanized. Courtney’s 2008 Olympic mount Harmony’s Mythilus was euthanized 10 days prior to Rendezvous’ injury, from complications during a colic surgery. Read more…

The Dressage Task Force (DTF) published a 50-page report on what they have done for dressage the past year. Unlike the FEI Dressage Committee, the Dressage Task Force strived for open communication towards riders, trainers, judges, national federations and organisers. Addressing the popularity of the dressage sport, the DTF is unanimous in highlighting the need to increase transparency and attractiveness for spectators, media and sponsors. More…
