Wellington, FL – Krystalann Shingler has earned the title of 2007 United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Year-End Adult Amateur Fourth Level Champion. Shingler attended the Adequan/USDF Annual Convention in Orlando, Florida to be presented with her commemorative plaque and gift certificates in honor of her win. Shingler competed her own horse, Tividor, to achieve a median score of 67.978 percent, the highest in the United States for the division. Tividor is a 17.2 hand, 7-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding. Shingler and Tividor have been working together for three years. Tividor was imported to the United States as a 3-year-old by Shingler’s trainer, Shannon Dueck. Dueck is a veteran international competitor, having shown many esteemed competitions including the World Equestrian Games, the World Cup Finals, and the Open European Dressage Championships. Additionally, Dueck won an Individual Silver Medal at the 1999 Pan American Games. Dueck runs a dressage training facility in Loxahatchee, Florida. “I am so grateful to Shannon for pairing me with Tividor and training us both,” said Shingler.
A native of Toronto Canada, Shingler now resides in Wellington, Florida, utilizing her dual citizenship. She was also very successful as a young rider and competed in the North American Young Rider Championships for Canada’s Ontario team. This year, 24-year-old Shingler competed in many shows that contributed to the honor of Adult Amateur Fourth Level Champion. Shingler says one of her most memorable rides was the Fourth Level Test 2 class at Dressage at Devon. Her score of 66.364 percent earned her a second place and the Darla Lynn Schwark Memorial trophy. This special trophy is given to the amateur rider with the highest score at Forth Level at Dressage at Devon, the largest international competition in the United States. Shingler was thrilled to qualify for this prestigious show held in Devon, Pennsylvania. Her success there made the experience unforgettable.
In addition to her riding, Shingler also works for Sho Clothes, a Wellington boutique specializing in equestrian apparel. Sho Clothes often brings their mobile store to shows all over the Southeast, as well as large competitions farther north on the East coast. When not in the show ring with Tividor, Shingler is frequently found helping customers with the latest in equestrian fashion.
Shingler is looking forward to moving up to the FEI Prix St. Georges and Intermediare I levels with Tividor in 2008. She is excited with his talent and willingness to work. Shingler thinks these traits are the largest components to their achievements this far. She hopes these attributes will continue to carry them to many more victories. Ultimately, Shingler would like to compete in the Olympic Games and her success so far suggests she is on the right course to achieve her goals.
