Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center Announces Tuesday Talks Schedule

The Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center has announced its 2009-10 “Tuesday Talks” schedule. All Tuesday Talk lectures will be held at 7 p.m. in the Equine Medical Center’s library.

 

Virginia Tech's Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center has announced its 2009-10 Tuesday Talks schedule. This series of free lectures is designed to provide veterinarians, horse owners, and horse professionals with valuable insight and practical advice related to a wide array of equine health care topics.

 

The 2009-10 Tuesday Talks schedule is as follows:

  • Dec. 8, 2009: "Regenerative Medicine: From Stem Cells to PRP" will be presented by Dr. Jennifer Barrett, assistant professor of surgery at the equine medical center.
  • Jan. 12, 2010: "Endocrine Disease in the Horse: Cushings and Insulin Resistance" will be presented by Dr. Martin Furr, professor and Adelaide C. Riggs Chair in Internal Medicine at the equine medical center.
  • Feb. 9, 2010: A "Lameness Diagnosis Panel" will be moderated by Dr. Nat White, the Jean Ellen Shehan Professor, and director of the equine medical center.
  • March 9, 2010: "Diagnosis and Treatment of Upper Airway and Sinus Disorders" will be presented by Dr. Ken Sullins, professor of equine surgery at the equine medical center.

All Tuesday Talk lectures will be held at 7 p.m. in the Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center’s library. No fee is charged for attending but seating is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, e-mail Amy Troppmann or call (703) 771-6843.
