NOW I see AND feel the signs of Spring - yea! It's still in the mid to upper 50s at night which is perfect to me and in mid-70s during the day. I wish it would stay this way longer, since Spring has gotten here so late in north-central Florida.
Sadly, though, I've been stuck at my desk installing software and moving files to my new tower PC. And, on top of that, upgrading my year-old laptop to Windows 7. I finally
had it with the constant crashes I kept having with my laptop running Vista and IE8. I'm now used to staying awake until at least 2am and often later so I wouldn't exceed my satellite FAP (Fair Access Policy) of only 500 MB of downloading a day. I have done this a few times and had to even dial-up so I could work. I usually can plan ahead to keep this from happening, but there was always something that I didn't plan for. For example, 2 days ago, I deactivated my web development suite (Adobe Macromedia CS3) from my older laptop so I could install it on my new tower PC. (You are allowed to install a copy of the CS3 on a personal laptop and on a personal computer per the license. I have had the Dreamweaver suite since 5 versions ago in 2002 when it started with Dreamweavder 3 and Fireworks 3.)
At one point of the installation and moving of files process, I was surrounded by 4 PCs! Talk about multi-tasking! So, now that it's mostly done, I'm going to ride this evening - yea! And, yea for the time change so I
can ride! I will update you soon on my new sale/special. We are scaling down our banners to just a few sizes as I still am in the process of a redesign of
HorsesintheSouth.com and
AHorseBlog.com.
Oh yeah, on top of all of this we finally got our site moved over to the new upgraded server and I am already seeing results in the number of views on the site as they have increase by 1 to 2 thousahnd more a day! I think this month we will double the number of views to the site now that all of the page views don't get bogged down by a lot of visitors at the same time (this is what the upgraded server software has done - it manages the views/visits better).
Keep watching for changes! I have a new person on sales, too, but need to train her on what we have to offer. Do take advantage of the Premium Directory Listing pricing and get 'grandfathered in' before we raise the price to be in line with other comparable equine sites (although we get a lot more views than some of these other sites that offer this feature).
All of you non-profit associations can have a free Premium Directory listing. Just contact us at
mktg@horsesinthesouth.com for details on how to do it so you don't have to pay.
Here is a great quote I found today on Facebook: ~The wind of heaven is that which blows between a horse's ears~
